February brings three calendars together: the height of the ski season, reliable winter sun and the beginning of Europe’s fashion month. School holidays in the UK and France shape availability more than anything else.
Half-term changes everything.
February is Courchevel at its fullest. UK half-term falls in mid-February and French school holidays are staggered by region through February and into March, so demand stays high for weeks rather than days.
The resort’s levels suit different groups. Courchevel 1850 is the social centre, with ski-in, ski-out chalets and the busiest restaurants; 1650 and Le Praz are quieter and often better for families; the wider Three Valleys give strong skiers almost unlimited terrain.
Hard to fault for couples.
February is one of the Maldives’ most settled months: dry, calm and consistently bright. Around Valentine’s Day, couples-focused resorts and their best villas are in demand.
Its most comfortable month.
February is Dubai at its most comfortable — warm days, pleasant evenings and the full outdoor season in swing. It works equally well as a standalone trip or a stop on the way further east.
Around the shows, not inside them.
Womenswear fashion month moves through Europe at the end of February: Milan’s week usually falls in the last days of the month, and Paris follows from 1 to 9 March 2027. During these weeks, hotels in both cities fill quickly and prices rise sharply.
Earlier in February, both cities are calmer and very much their winter selves — museums without queues, restaurants without the show crowd, and Valentine’s week the one exception worth planning around.
